That Malayalam filmmakers Shaji Kailas and A K Sajan have cashed in on the recent spot-fixing scandal and announced a film on tainted cricketer Sreesanth’s life has not gone down well with Bollywood. Experts in the Hindi film industry have slammed this announcement as just another publicity
gimmick, and say it’s no good to make a film on the matter.

“It’s rubbish. A film on this incident should never be made ... and I don’t think such a film will ever work at the box office. Films like Jannat (2008) were based on match-fixing but that was fictitious and audiences were curious. Had it been on a real-life incident, it wouldn’t have worked,” says filmmaker Ramesh Taurani.
