It could soon be judgment time for Lalit Modi. The inquiry against him is reaching a climax after long winding proceedings. The disciplinary committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which has been hearing his case for close to three years, is set to deliver its verdict soon.

Arun Jaitley, Chirayu Amin and Jyotiraditya Scindia are the members of the committee. “It’s a quasi-judicial matter. I do not want to comment on this,” Jaitley told Mirror when asked if the inquiry is reaching a formal conclusion. However, sources within the BCCI have indicated that the hearing has reached a stage where a verdict can be delivered.

The committee has been hearing the case since July 16, 2010. Many a witness has appeared before the committee, either in person or through video camera.
