Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram has raised the issue of former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi's presence in London with his British counterpart.

Chidambaram has also asked the foreign minister of the UK how a fugitive like Modi was staying in London.

Modi was suspended as the chief of IPL in April 2010 after being charged with impropriety. He is also alleged to have held a silent stake in three IPL franchises and questions were raised on whether he was involved in match fixing and betting in IPL.
